Clean House

What
have you been asking God for that you have no room to receive? I mean your
house is already full of junk and the blessing that God wants to pour out has
nowhere to land. I’m talking to the people that are harboring sin and past
residue in their lives. Too many of us try to clean ourselves up with help
books and/or counseling. I’m not discouraging either, but it is always
important to first go to the source who is our counselor, healer, and deliverer!
God! God will begin to clean our house and make it ready for the blessings he
has in store for us. So ask yourself, “What
is cluttering my life?” There are many types of people, many levels of uncleanliness
in our lives for various reasons.
Some
people are Hoarders, they hold onto
everything and never let things go. These people may struggle with
unforgiveness, anger and hatred/bitterness. It’s hard to move on to better
things when you can’t let go of the past.
Another
type are the Disorganized People.
You may possess the right things but you struggle with compartmentalizing them.
You never know when it is time to move and when it isn’t. You often rush into
things, or have trouble completing things. Your house is full of clutter,
affecting your thinking and motivation.
Next,
we have the Lazy People. These
people don’t want to be bothered with cleaning their house. Why? They often don’t
see a proper reason for them to apply themselves. They even may believe that if they did apply themselves and get themselves together that it wouldn’t
make any difference. This causes apathy.
Then
we have to “Perfect” People. This is
a complex to those who are in denial. They believe whole heartedly that they
are just how they need to be and often can be judgmental, religious, and
degrading. These people often believe that they are sincere and helpful. Just
like the Pharisees, it is hard to clean a house when you don’t think it’s
dirty.
Lastly, we have the Maid Seekers. These are people who recognize every speck of dust in
their homes and are not satisfied with it. They will look for help constantly,
trying to clean themselves up. They are both sincere and open, but have a tendency
to put themselves into dangerous situations. Not every maid is a good one.
Surrounding yourself with the wrong type of people will have you trying to fix
a problem with the wrong solution.
So
who are you? And what can you do to clean your house. We are never finished,
never there. We are constantly pressing toward that mark. But, the first step
is to ask God to help you and prepare you for the things he has for you. Just
like a quality, professional maid, it will cost you something. But the end
result will be well worth it. God bless and be encouraged!!
