His Promise

I have walked through life after a great promise God has given me with hope and sorrow in my heart. Hope for the things to come, sorrow because it did not yet manifest. God has a way of preparing us for the destiny he has for us. From our mother’s wombs we cried out in freedom and pain. Nothing new in life is ever easy for us to go through. Have you noticed that the same birthing process follows us through our life cycles? We are freed in one area in life and in pain in the other.

For so many years, I thought the worst of myself. Seeing every stumble and every mistake I have made. I believed I messed up and that God was shaking his head looking upon his unruly daughter. I forgot that his word says there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. I forgot that his grace is sufficient to cover every mistake and every sin. We aren’t perfect. We are merely clay in the master’s hands. He is shaping us and shaping isn’t always pretty. Take a second and imagine a sculptor at work. They start with a blob of clay and they began to shape it and scrape at it. They shave away unneeded pieces and add to lacking ones. This is what God does to us every day of our lives. He shapes us and stripes us and adds to us. We are often naked before God and he loves us still. I know all of you have been hurt; some more than others and it’s kept you out of the throne room because you believe that God doesn’t want to look upon the scars and the stains upon your life. But you forget that every day he sees his son, the wounds in his hands, feet and side. This is a testament to the sacrifice Jesus made for all of us. His wounds cover your own. What God sees when you enter his throne room is his beloved child.

No matter how messed up we are or how many mistakes we make along the journey, God’s promise is sound. The word says that God is not a man that he should lie and that his word cannot return unto him void. Both statements mean no matter what is going on in your life that God will do what he said he will do. This word is for me as much as it is for you. I have been waiting over a year for one of God’s promises to me to come to fruition. I have cried, prayed, fasted and waited. It is the hardest thing to wait on God. I know many of you must have felt what I felt, that maybe you heard wrong. You might have thought that God had changed his mind because you didn’t get yourself together fast enough. Those are all lies. God’s promise does not lay on the backs of our actions! God’s promise is held up by who he is. He is Alpha and Omega; he is the Great I Am! God is ready to pour out a blessing that supersedes anything you can imagine. When the promise God has given you comes to past, no words but the utterance of praise will leave your lips.
God says, “His promise will change your life forever that everything you thought you wanted won’t compare to what he will give you.” God says, “If a man can keep his word, how much more will I? You did not mistake me, you did not mishear me! I Will Do As I Promised!”

God bless. Remember to stay strong and keep the faith. Our wait isn’t much longer, God will do just what he said he will do. For God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ask or think. There is an excitement in my spirit because I know things are about to get better.
